Kinderplaats 2019

Lakeshore Makers will again be giving kids and other visitors the opportunity to participate in a fun, hands-on activity during Kinderplaats at the 2019 Tulip Time Festival. This year participants will build a mechanical assembly - a scissor lift, with multiple creative experiences. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 4th and 5th, 2019.

We need volunteers to help us run a successful event

Schedule -

Our volunteer schedule is divided into 4 sessions on May 4 and 5:

    • Saturday AM 10:30 am - 2:00 pm

    • Saturday PM 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm

    • Sunday AM 11:30 am - 2:30 pm

    • Sunday PM 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Volunteer Signup -

We are looking for volunteers to help participants with the project. Please sign up at our Volunteer Signup Form.

Where to Go -

Kinderplaats is at The Civic Center at 150 W 8th St. Parking may be a challenge, so please allow additional time to find a spot and get to The Civic Center. Look for signs for Lakeshore Makers.

What to Bring -

Be sure to bring something to drink, and appropriate clothing. Everything else will be provided!

What to Do -

Our primary activity will be assembling a small scissor lift. We’ll also be able to introduce participants to the manufacturing process (sourcing materials, fabrication, assembly, and finishing.) This is a simple activity - It should take just a couple minutes per participant to build, and 5 or so minutes to play.

Weather -

This event is an all-weather event. We will be out there, rain or shine!

Who to Ask -

Did I miss anything? Please let me know. I'm happy to answer any questions. Email or call Tavan Hendrick at tavan.hendrick@gmail.com or 616.283.1753.
